As an Assistant Professor at IIT Bombay, I lead the Computational Physics and Materials Engineering Lab, focusing on cutting-edge research in computational mechanics, multi-physics modelling, and intelligent material systems. My work integrates physics-based modelling techniques—such as phase-field methods, crystal plasticity, and finite element simulations—with applications in fracture mechanics, corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, and additive manufacturing.
At IIT Bombay, I am committed to building a vibrant research group that not only advances fundamental science but also addresses real-world engineering challenges. I actively mentor students and early-career researchers, fostering a culture of scientific curiosity, interdisciplinary thinking, and technical rigour.
Through collaborative research, high-performance computing, and innovative simulation tools, our group aims to bridge the gap between theoretical modelling and practical engineering applications. My role extends beyond research—shaping curricula, engaging in outreach, and contributing to the global discourse on the future of materials and mechanics.
